  QUEEN'S PARK

Queen's Park or Holyrood Park, is roughly circular in shape and covering a vicinity of 5 miles in diameter, it was developed to this size by James V (1541-42).

Despite its close proximity to the town centre, the Park is a microcosm of Scottish scenery comprising mountains, marshes and moorland. For this reason, it is a favourite haunt of local hikers and climbers who want fresh air and exercise neither too far nor strenuous.

The three main walks are 'Radical Road', which follows the Salisbury Crags southwards; 'Hunters Bog' from St Margaret's Well to the Southern point of Salisbury Crags and 'Long Row', from the ruins of St. Anthony's Chapel to Arthur's Seat and Dunsapie Loch.
